Of the people who liked the Fairmont, 14 liked it because the staff was very friendly and answered all their questions, 9 because the food at the restaraunt was delicious and right on the beach where you could watch the sunset at night, 8 because the grounds were lined with lush gardens, waterfalls and there was a sunset terrace to watch the sunset from., 7 said they liked it because there was a white sand beach with a turtle lagoon, 10 stated there were many activities including golf, surfing, snorkeling, massages on the beach, a pool, and a park for children, 2 reviewers specifically said the resort is worth every penny, 5 liked it because the units were roomy with huge bathrooms, 1 said the rooms were kept clean and tidy, 4 reported the view was beautiful - one man liked watching the tiki torch lighting each night, 2 wrote they were upgraded free of charge.

negative reviews
Of the people who didn't like the hotel, 2 didn't like it because the food was not worth the money, 2 people thought the rooms in the unrenovated section of the resort are old and shabby, 1 because there was a loud waterfall outside their room window, 4 said they had problems with the management misleading them about the views in rooms and over booking the hotel, 1 found the restaraunt was not open late.

The Fairmont Orchid provides numerous activities, lush grounds, and an accommodating staff. Great for family vacations and honeymoons but some reviews say beware of misleading information presented by the reservation desk and management staff.
