Preparer's notes
Lokahi Lodge is a budget property that some described to be more of a hostel type setting. There is one bathroom per three rooms. The rooms are small with linens you pick up yourself in the bathroom. Many guests said there was a musty odor and the rooms were not up to the cleanliness standards of a hotel.

Lisa's notes
Lodging near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is limited. There are no hotels - but the closes thing to a hotel is the volcano house within the park. There also is Kilauea Military Camp for military only, also within the park, and a handful of bed and breakfasts, small inns, and vacation rentals either in Volcano Village or across the highway in Mauna Loa estates. Lokahi Lodge is a typical bed and breakfast in that you must share a bathroom and a common area.
