I checked the net for all the
Royal Kona reviews I could find. There were 25 reviews that were more than just a few words. I am basing this on 20 reviews for the hotel, and 5 ones against it.
Royal Kona Resort Is located in Kailua-Kona, Big Island of Hawaii.
It is generally regarded as a budget hotel.

The Royal Kona is a budget hotel that most reviewers feel is in need of a serious rehab. Many of the guests didn't mind the hotel condition however because they spent most of their trip out and about exploring the local attractions and tropical setting. Expect what you pay for and you will be happy with the Royal Kona.

Many people seem to have a love-hate relationship with this hotel. Many reviews about old and dirty rooms were written before refurbishment of the hotel, so they may not be valid still. If you do stay here, ask for a newly refurbished room. I think the hotel is a little too expnsive for what you get unless you get a good package, but it does have a nice private lagoon and great views.
