-- I checked several major engines for phrases that related to the Marina like "we stayed at the Aqua Marina Hotel". I found 25 real appraisals -- 8 people approved of the Marina while 17 disapproved of the hotel.

My thoughts
All I can say is book at your own risk! It seems that despite the low cost of this hotel, it is still not worth the staying. Most reviews thought the staff was rude, the rooms were filthy upon arrival, with maid service only once a week, and they did not feel safe. On a positive side there is a good view from almost every room.

Of the people who liked the Marina, 5 liked it because the staff was friendly and filled all requests, 5 because the rooms were fairly clean, 7 because the location is great for shopping, restaraunts, and public transportation, 13 said they liked it because the view was spectacular - you could see Diamond head or Ala Moana Beach Park, 5 stated the pool, jacuzi, and tennis courts were all clean and enjoyable, 1 reviewer liked it because they enjoyed the glass elevators.

Of the people who didn't like the hotel, 7 didn't like it because the staff was rude, unhelpful and had no manners, 9 people thought the rooms were dirty - some of the many issues were hair on the floor, mold in the bathroom, rust on the faucets, bugs, holes in the linens, and coffee stains on the counters upon arrival , 4 because the ads and pictures online gave a false impression of the hotel - the rooms did not look like the pictures and the beach was about 8 blocks walking distance instead of 2 blocks, 6 said the hotel and rooms were very outdated and in need of renovating, painting, and some furniture was broken, 6 found the maid service only came once a week, 1 reviewer didn't like it because the room was small, 3 didn't like it because they did not feel safe - one couples neighbors reported someone trying to break into their room at night and got no response from the front desk (no one was on duty) and another mans luggage was stolen in the lobby.
