June 24th, 2005 -- I checked several major engines for phrases that related to the Diamond Head like "we stayed at the Diamond Head Beach Hotel". I found 11 real appraisals -- 8 people approved of the Diamond Head while 3 disapproved of the hotel.

My thoughts
Diamond Head Beach is a combination of hotel and condo. There are permanent residents and some of the rooms are rented condos. I suggest seeing your room before buying it because some people said they were less than happy with the size and setup they recieved. Also be aware that they advertise parking but it is limited parking, if the lot is full then you have to use a parking meter with a four hour limit. On a good note, the views are great and this tends to be a rather quiet property just outside of the busy part of Waikiki.

Of the people who liked the Diamond Head, 5 liked it because the view was breathtaking - some rooms on the higher floor have views from two sides of the building, 2 because the rooms were clean and well maintained, 1 because the kitchen was well stocked, 1 said he liked it because the hotel is near many activities including surfing, shopping, and restaraunts that deliver to your room, 4 stated the area is much quieter than downtown Waikiki but still walking distance from attractions.

Of the people who didn't like the hotel, 3 didn't like it because the brochure is misleading showing the hotel on the waterfront even thoough there is no beach, it says there is parking but its very limited parking, and the lanai's are not very large, 2 people thought the unit and building were old, 2 because there ws not enough parking - guests were forced to use parking meters, 4 said the staff was not very polite and the front desk closes at 5pm, 2 found the housekeeping came late in the afternoon.
